The discovery was made by bakery employees upon opening and was immediately called 112. Police responded to the scene and have launched an investigation to identify those responsible. According to initial reports, the graffiti was apparently written in black paint on the shop’s main shutter during the night. No further details have been released at this time.
Zingaretti’s conviction
The case immediately sparked outrage and solidarity . “Horrendous, unworthy words appearing on the shutters of a kosher bakery in Rome. Every episode of anti-Semitism is an attack on our democratic civilization,” declared Nicola Zingaretti, head of the Democratic Party delegation to the European Parliament. “My solidarity goes to the bakery owners and to Rome’s Jewish community,” he added.
