On Thursday morning, officers from the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) and the Federal Police arrested Mahmoud Z., who was born in Lebanon, on a train to Flensburg as he entered Germany from Denmark. The man is accused of procuring weapons for the terrorist organization Hamas.
According to investigators, he allegedly took possession of an assault rifle, eight pistols and over 600 rounds of ammunition in Hesse in August and brought them to Berlin – to another suspect, Wael FM, who was arrested on October 1st.
The weapons were apparently intended for planned attacks on Israeli or Jewish institutions in Germany and Europe.
