A 14-year-old Jewish girl was assaulted and threatened in Sarcelles on March 6 in what authorities are treating as a suspected antisemitic attack.
Assault after question about Ramadan
According to police sources cited by media reports, the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. when the teenager was approached by three youths.
They reportedly asked her why she was not fasting for Ramadan. When she replied that she was Jewish, the situation escalated immediately. The attackers allegedly insulted her, calling her a “dirty Jew,” and one of them threatened her, saying: “On the Quran, I’m going to kill you.”
The girl was also struck in the face during the assault.
Victim hospitalized in shock
Emergency services treated the teenager and transported her to the hospital. She was reported to be in a state of shock, though no life-threatening injuries were reported.
Two suspects arrested
Later that evening, police arrested two minors aged 12 in connection with the incident. An investigation has been opened to clarify the circumstances of the attack and determine the responsibility of those involved.
