A new incident has placed the party La France insoumise (LFI) under scrutiny. According to information reported by Europe 1, an elderly Jewish woman living in Paris was allegedly subjected to antisemitic insults during a leaflet distribution operation carried out by activists affiliated with the party. The events reportedly took place on Sunday afternoon while the woman was at home.
The incident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. At least two activists, holding campaign leaflets, were going door-to-door in a building in Paris’s 19th arrondissement. They knocked repeatedly at the apartment of an elderly woman and introduced themselves as supporters of LFI candidate Sophia Chikirou in the Paris mayoral race.
The resident told them she could not open the door because she had a broken tailbone. According to her account, the two individuals became hostile after noticing a mezuzah affixed to her doorframe — a traditional Jewish religious object placed at the entrance of homes.
The woman claims the activists then insulted and threatened her, allegedly saying phrases such as “Dirty Jew. We’ll be back.”
The individuals reportedly left the scene shortly afterward. The victim contacted police and is considering filing a formal complaint. Surveillance footage from a camera located at the building’s entrance is currently being reviewed, and investigators hope to identify those involved.
