BOLOGNA, NOV 20 – The Bologna District Prosecutor’s Office had requested pre-trial detention for him, a 25-year-old originally from Bangladesh and resident in Rimini, on charges of Islamic terrorism.
Before deciding whether to order the arrest, the investigating judge scheduled a preliminary hearing for the morning, notifying the suspect. However, the young man did not appear and is currently being sought by the Carabinieri’s Special Operations Unit (ROS).
The young man, according to reports, is facing charges of aggravated incitement to commit a crime with a terrorist intent of a jihadist nature, for several posts praising Al Qaeda and ISIS. Pretrial questioning is one of the new provisions of the so-called “Nordio reform,” which requires suspects to be notified, for certain crimes, before a prosecutor requests a possible arrest.
