Israel’s Ministry for Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism has flagged several demonstrations across Europe as “high risk” in its latest weekly protest forecast for 4–11 September, citing mobilization around arms-trade events and marches planned for major capitals.
In the UK, a national march is set to depart London’s Russell Square on 6 September, with organizers pressing to halt arms sales to Israel; the event is classified high risk in the report. Additional high-risk activity centers on efforts to disrupt the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) arms fair at the ExCeL Centre, where large-scale protests are planned beginning 9 September.
French organizers plan a march from Place de la République in Paris on 6 September; it is also rated high risk, with the forecast noting its proximity to Israeli diplomatic assets. In Germany, a 10 September protest outside Zalando’s Berlin office, framed by organizers as a boycott action—is likewise marked high risk.
The ministry notes that the departure of the “Global Sumud Flotilla” toward Gaza is likely to spur related demonstrations across Europe, adding to the overall protest tempo during the period. A “high” risk designation indicates protests are “likely to involve violence,” derived from factors such as rhetoric, organizing histories, engagement levels, and proximity to Israeli or Jewish sites.
While numerous additional gatherings are assessed at medium or low risk, the ministry’s assessment underscores an elevated threat environment around select European events this week and highlights the importance of situational awareness for Jewish and Israeli institutions in affected cities.
