Serbian law enforcement authorities have arrested two individuals suspected of preparing an attack against President Aleksandar Vučić.
According to the APA news agency, Serbia’s Interior Ministry announced in a statement that the suspects, identified as D.R., born in 1975, and M.R., born in 1983, are believed to have acquired weapons with the intent to violently alter the constitutional order of the Republic of Serbia and overthrow the country’s highest state institutions.
They are also suspected of planning an attack against the life of the president, members of his family, and officers of the Interior Ministry.
Pre-trial detention has been ordered for both individuals. The criminal case will be forwarded to the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in the city of Kraljevo for further proceedings.
